The 2011 Eurovision Guide Book

image As the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest approaches, it’s time to cast an eye over the countries, singers and performers that will be taking to the stage in Dusseldorf.

Regular visitors to ESC Insight will know that with the help of our judges, we’re going through each song in our weekly Juke Box Jury shows on the podcast (find it here in iTunes), but we wanted to offer something a bit more.

The ESC Insight Unofficial Guide to Eurovision 2011

Why an Ebook?

There’s a lot of information out there on this year’s songs, lots of sites looking at a song a day, but we’ve never been about lots of pages – ESC Insight is about going in-depth to a subject, and making it easy and accessible. Collecting all our thoughts and information in one ninety page book is the right thing for us to do.

In the pages of the Book, we look at each of the countries in turn, with information on:

  • The song, performer, composer and lyricist.
  • Biographical information.
  • Historical statistics for each country.
  • Thoughts from Ewan and Sharleen on the entry.
  • …and a handy space for you to take your own notes as the live shows on May 10th, 12th and 14th get ever closer.

Noted Eurovision historian John Kennedy O’Connor has written the foreword, like him we’re hoping for an exciting spectacle from the biggest musical TV show in the world. The artistic Minipop icons are from Ben Morris, and grace the cover and the individual country pages.
