Missed The Latest Headlines, Pick Up The Newsletter Written by on September 23, 2014

The Eurovision Song Contest may be a few months away, but the latest news and updates on what will be happening there are still coming in. Make sure you view the latest ESC Insight Newsletter to keep you up to date with all the Eurovision news.

In this edition the newsletter looks at the changes to Melodifestivalen, the choice of slogan for Eurovision 2015 and news of more acts making it to Junior Eurovision in sunny Malta.  As always too you are treated to Robertson’s Reflection.  This week the newsletter ends with our Stockholm correspondent Ben Robertson interviewing Anders Kedhammar, the father of Sweden’s Junior Eurovision singer Julia Kedhammar, about the impact her selection is having on her life:

“There is something happening every night.  There is the normal stuff like school and football but now it is also recordings two or three times a week and lots of meetings both about Junior Eurovision and also with management.”

“There certainly isn’t much time to think, only to deliver.”

One concern that broadcasters and fans have is that Junior Eurovision can put too much pressure on young minds. There is lots to do, but it doesn’t seem to be difficult when I ask Anders.

“The pressure, that’s not a big problem.  There is lots of hard work, but mostly it is just the tiredness Julia has.  At times I wish we could just take it in portions, but on the other hand, you can’t do this half way.”

To read more about Julia’s preparations for Junior Eurovision and the rest of the newsletter automatically in your inbox make sure to read and subscribe to it online.  The latest edition of the newsletter is available to view here.
